So, my media teacher just spent 15 minutes telling me and my class a very interesting story. He went to college with David Muir, and in case you live under a rock and don't know who that is, he is the ABC World News anchor. This took place about 20 years ago. Anyway, in college, my teacher was editing and everyone outside the class was running around. And my teacher was like "What's going on?" He went out into the hall, and everyone was freaking out, saying that Jerry Brown was going to do an interview on their college news program (basically televised school announcements). And this was a big deal. So, the interview came. And David Muir was interviewing him. back then, he was 2 feet shorter, 60 pounds heavier (and not in a flattering way), and a VERY uptight news anchor. So, Jerry Brown was not actually physically on the show, it was a phone call. The first question that he asked was something like, "So, Mr. Brown, your falling behind in the polls. Do you have any plans to even it out?" And the response was, "Yeah, I'm gonna legalize marijuana and other drugs." And he said some other offensive thing. His voice sounded different, too. David just looked stunned for a moment, and the call was cut off mid sentence. He just stared at the screen for a second and then said, "Um, well we seem to be having some technical difficulties. We'll be back with Governor Brown." It turns out in the excitement of the interview, NO ONE thought to check and see if it was a prank call. And that is now sitting somewhere on some tape.
